When you're a teenager or young person and a parent has cancer, it can feel like a lot. You might feel scared, angry, confused, or all of those things at once. Big Ripples is here for young people aged 10 to 18.
Having a parent with cancer is really tough. You might feel like you need to hold it together for your family, or like nobody around you really understands what it's like.
We do. And we want you to know that however you're feeling, it's okay. You don't have to do anything you're not ready for. But if you want some support, or just want to know there are other young people going through something similar, you're in the right place.
It can be hard to know how to support a teenager through a parent's cancer diagnosis. They might push you away, go quiet, or seem fine when you sense they're really not.
This section is designed with young people in mind. If your young person isn't ready to look themselves, that's okay too. You can always explore on their behalf and share what feels right.
Co-designed with young people and families who have experienced cancer. Whether you want to understand more about what cancer means, find ways to manage big feelings, or just feel a bit less alone, there's something here for you.
