Nobody understands what it's like to parent through cancer better than someone who has done it. We're developing a Parent Panel where that experience will help shape the support we create. Here's what it will involve.
When the panel opens, we'll welcome parents and carers who:
You don't need any professional experience or qualifications. You don't need to be a confident speaker. Your lived experience is what matters, nothing more, nothing less.
We are committed to making the Parent Panel as inclusive and representative as possible. We actively welcome parents and carers from all communities and backgrounds, because the more diverse our panel, the better the support we can build for every family who needs us.
If you have any access requirements, please let us know when you register and we will do everything we can to accommodate you.
We know that life is full. Involvement will be completely flexible, so you can take part in whatever feels manageable, whenever it feels right. It's likely to include things like:
If you are ever invited to attend anything away from home, we will always cover your expenses. We never want the cost of getting there to be the reason you can't be in the room.
Every opportunity is optional. There is no minimum commitment. Some months there may be nothing at all. You are always in control.
We're still finalising how the panel will work, so that when it opens it's genuinely useful, well supported and worth your time. Sign up to our newsletter and we'll let you know as soon as you can register your interest.
